Silverstone delivered a classic in Round 1 of the F1CRL 2026-Q3 season, with pole-sitter DK_NORTEK29 crossing the line just 0.170 seconds ahead of a relentless nick_ac30 (McLaren) to win his inaugural F1CRL race after 26 dramatic laps around the Northamptonshire circuit, one of the tightest finishes the league has produced (Editor’s Note: we don’t know this for sure, but it feels correct in Jeff’s mind).
The finish capped an afternoon characterized by tight margins, as the three podium finishers seemingly shared one dot on the track map until HAL9100 spun on the final lap and yielded ~10 seconds to the two drivers ahead. Further down the order, a promising early-race stretch from the McLaren of ZZG-SpeedyB (also in his first F1CRL race) was cut short by retirement after just four laps.

Cadillac and Williams complete a tight top four
HAL9100 brought his Cadillac Formula 1 Team car home in P3, +11.531s off the win, ahead of Mr_EFizzle in the Atlassian Williams entry, who crossed the line in P4 at +13.402s. Mr_EFizzle didn’t come away totally empty-handed on the timing sheets, as his 1:30.748 was the outright fastest lap of the race (his 8th time securing a race’s fastest lap in F1CRL), a small consolation for missing the podium by a few seconds.
Rounding out the top six were ghost_726 and oTisaurus, with the Haas driver (despite a late puncture) edging the Ferrari entry by just under five seconds after both ran competitive races in the midfield.
A scrappy fight for the final points
Behind them, the battle for the last of the points got progressively more spread out. xINCIDENTx brought the second Haas home in P7 despite a 10-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane, comfortably clear of the second Cadillac of jmtitan10 in P8. CJ of the North, in the Audi Revolut entry, rounded out the point scorers in P9, more than two minutes off the winner’s pace after cruising home in 4th gear for much of his final lap (potentially from being tired from standing the whole race).
The takeaway
DK_NORTEK29 will take real confidence from extracting a win in his first race in F1CRL. For nick_ac30 and McLaren, there’s plenty to build on (race-winning pace), but also questions to answer on [reliability] after ZZG-SpeedyB‘s early trip to the garage. With the Cadillac, Williams, Haas, and Ferrari entries all showing they can hang in the mix, Round 1 of the 2026-Q3 season has set up what could be a closely-fought year at the front of the F1CRL field. Oddsmakers estimate there’s a 99% chance that either DK_NORTEK29 or nick_ac30 wins the Drivers’ Championship, while McLaren is given a 76% chance of winning the Teams’ Championship (though that will likely come down to whether ZZG-SpeedyB can sufficiently supplement nick_ac30‘s likely large season points haul.
